From our translators This tutorial was made in PSP 8.1 but I am sure could be done in any version. The Scrap Kit you can get Here It is from JosDZigns The Tube is from KAT. You can get it Here. Please Note: All LAYERS are turned off on this tube. Bring up the tube & the Scrap Kit in PSP. Go to your layers view all on the tube. Take this arrow with you to keep your place in this tutorial.
( 1 ) In the layers of the scrap kit you will see the bottom 4 layers are just named papers. To make it easier for this tutorial you can rename them from the bottom up, paper1, paper2, paper3 & paper4. ( 2 ) Open a new 800 x 600 Transparent Image. ( 3 ) Go to the scrapkit Butterfly Dreams and click on paper1, copy and paste it as a new image. ( 4 ) In your foreground patterns find this image and set it to angle 0 scale 50 and flood fill your image. You can delete your pattern image now, we won't need it again. ( 5 ) Go to the scrapkit Butterfly Dreams and click on paper2, copy and paste it as a new image. In your foreground patterns find this image and set it to angle 90 scale 50. ( 6 ) New Layer. Selections, select all, selections modify selection by 25, selections invert. Flood fill this selection with the pattern. Effects image effects, inner bevel with these settings, bevel 5, width 8, smoothness 0, depth 4, ambience 0, shininess 0, angle 315, intensity 30 and elevation 50. Keep the selection. ( 7 ) Effect 3d effects, dropshadow with these settings, H & V -2, opacity 100, blur 2 and color black. Selections select none. Keep this layer on top. You can also delete the pattern, we won't need it again. Put this image away for a bit. ( 8 ) Make a new transparent image of 483 x 550. ( 8 ) Go to the scrapkit Butterfly Dreams and click on paper3, copy and paste it as a new image. Resize it to 300 x 300. ( 9 ) In your foreground patterns find this image and set it to angle 0 scale 70 and flood fill your image. ( 10 ) Go to the scrapkit Butterfly Dreams and click on picture frame (there are 2 there, I used the second one) Copy and paste as a new image. Image rotate, Rotate Clockwise 90%. Resize this image to 404 x 309, aspect ratio unchecked, all layers checked. Adjust Sharpness, sharpen. Copy and back to your image and paste as a new layer. Move it to just above the 3rd yellow line down from the top. ( 11 ) Go back to paper3 and undo the resize. With your selection tool, rectangle take a selection of just the green part. Copy and paste as a new image. Resize this image to 483x177, aspect ratio unchecked, all layers checked. Copy. You can now delete paper 3, we won't need it again. ( 12 ) Back to your image, make sure you are under the frame layer, and paste as a new layer. ( 13 ) Move this to just under the frame. ( 14 ) X out your frame layer and merge visible. ( 15 ) Effects I.C. Net Software, Filters Unlimited and use square edge, square edge 17. ( 16 ) With your selection tool, take a narow selection of the rough edges at the top and bottom and delete them. ( 17 ) Un X your frame. Make sure you are on the frame layer and with your magic wand click inside the frame. Selections modify and expand by 2. New Layer, layers arrange, move down. ( 18 ) Go to the scrapkit Butterfly Dreams and click on paper4, copy and paste it as a new image. Resize it to 300 x 300. ( 19 ) In your foreground patterns find this image and set it to angle 0, scale 50 and flood fill your selection. Selections, select none. Keep this paper. ( 20 ) Click on your top layer. Copy the tube KAT_2007_010208 and paste as a new layer. Resize it by 67% all layers unchecked. Move it up and to the right so the book overlaps the frame. ( 21 ) Take your eraser tool set to size 10, hardness 100 & opacity 100 and very carefully right click on the part of the book that overlaps the frame at the top and also the heading of the book. Also erase, left click this time the part of the book that goes into the frame at the bottom. ( 22 ) Go to the scrapkit Butterfly Dreams and click on word art, copy and paste is onto your image as a new layer. Place it so the W is hanging from the frame. ( see my image ) ( 23 ) With your selection tool , rectangle, make sure you are on your background layer and take a selection from the top of one of the yellow lines. Copy and paste as a new layer. Place this under the first line of the word art. Duplicate this layer and place it under the second line of the wordart. ( 24 ) Click on your frame layer. Effects 3D Effects Drop Shadow with these settings, V 7 H 2, Opacity 65 and blur 15. Repeat with V & H at -2. Layers merge, merge visible. Copy. ( 25 ) Bring up your image we put away and paste as a new layer. Move it to the very bottom so the y on the wordart sits just on top of the frame. ( see my image ) ( 26 ) Go to the scrapkit Butterfly Dreams and click on ribbon, copy, back to your image and paste as a new layer. Layers arrange bring to the top. Place it so the bottom of the diamond sits just on top of the yellow line. ( see my image ) ( 27 ) Take your eraser tool set to size 45, hardness 100 & opacity 100 and hold it inline with the edge of the frame and delete the ribbon, do this on both sides. ( 28 ) Go to the scrapkit Butterfly Dreams and click on layer 28, copy and paste as a new layer onto your image. Place it to the left and so that the ring is just over the ribbon at the top. With your deform tool pull this image down to the bottom, just inside the frame. ( see my image ) ( 29 ) With your select tool set to Freehand Selection, point to point, take a selection around the parts that need to come off so that the ring looks like it is hanging from the ribbon and hit your delete key. ( 30 ) Go to the scrapkit Butterfly Dreams and click on dangly ribbon, copy and paste as a new layer onto your image and place to the right. With your deform tool pull this image up a little at the bottom to just inside the frame. ( see my image ) Do the same as the last layer so it looks like it is hanging from the ribbon. ( 31 ) Go to your first ribbon layer and duplicate it, layers arrange bring to the top and resize it by 85% 4 times, all layers unchecked. Place it on top of the frame in the center ( see my image ) With your eraser, same settings as before, delete the parts over lapping the frame on both sides. ( 32 ) Click on your background layer. New layer. With your selection tool make a selection from the center of the top and side ribons to the bottom. ( 33 ) In your foreground patterns find the paper4 you used for inside the frame, set it to scale 100 and flood fill your selection. Selections select none. ( 34 ) Go to the scrapkit Butterfly Dreams and click on line stitching, copy and paste as a new layer onto your image. You won't see it yet. Resize by 75%, all layers unchecked, 2 times. Image rotate, free rotate by 45 deg. to the right. ( 35 ) With your deform tool move it to the top left corner ( see my image ) Duplicate this layer and image mirror. Layers merge, merge down, duplicate again and image flip. ( 36 ) Back to your top layer. Go to the scrapkit Butterfly Dreams and click on the first butterfly paper clip. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your image. Resize by 55% all layers unchecked. Place it at the top right of the frame ( see my image ) Zoom in and with your Freehand selection tool set to point to point make a selection around the inside of the paperclip and hit delete. Selections, select none. ( 37 ) Go to the scrapkit Butterfly Dreams and click on the pins layer. There are 3 there, I used the yellow one. Take a selection of the one you want to use, copy and paste as a new layer onto your image. Resize by 75% all layers unchecked. Image rotate, free rotate by 15 deg. to the right. Place it at the top left. ( see my image ) ( 38 ) ( Optional ) There is a butterfly accent in the kit ( It is the top layer ) if you would like to put some more butterflies down the sides of the center frame, copy and paste as a new layer, resize to your liking, duplicate again and colorise with these settings, Hue 18, Saturation 143. ( 39 ) Click on your layer with the frame on it and give it a dropshadow same as in step 24. (40 ) Merge all layers visible, resize, sharpen and you are finished.
