How to Connect PSP to Wi-Fi

0

Can a PSP be connected to the internet? Yes, As long as you have access to a wireless network, your PSP can connect to the internet, allowing you to peruse the web and play select games against other people online.

Here’s how you can connect the PSP to Wi-Fi:

Step 1:

To activate Wi-Fi connections on your PSP, you’ll need to press the WLAN switch. The switch is located on the left side of the PSP-1000 and PSPgo, near the analogue nub. Slide the switch to the right. The WLAN switch is on the PSP-2000 and 3000, is located on the top and to the left of the UMD drive. Toggle the switch to the right.
In order to establish a connection to the internet, you should have at least version 2.0 of the PSP’s operating system. The most recent PSP operating system is 6.1.

Step 2:

To change the settings, move your cursor to the left. It’s the suitcase icon on the main menu’s far left side. Then, on the network settings page, press X. Near the bottom of the Settings column, you’ll see this option.

Step 3:

Press X after selecting Infrastructure Mode. You can connect your PSP to a wireless router, such as your home router, in this way. Then hit X to choose a new connection. You will be able to save a new connection on your PSP as a result of this. Select and tap X if you already have a functional connection saved. Now you’ll be able to connect the PSP to Wi-Fi connection. Up to 10 individual connections can be saved.

Step 4:

Select Scan and then press X right afterward. Your PSP will now search for any wireless networks that are available. If your PSP still doesn’t connect, you should try moving closer to the router. If you have T-PSP Mobile’s plan, you may also choose Wireless Hotspot, which is the sole option to connect to a mobile hotspot. After your PSP finishes scanning, a list of networks will appear on the screen, select your Wi-Fi network. On the SSID screen, press the right arrow. Your current network name will be automatically selected.

Step 5:

Right-click the WPA-PSK (AES) option and select it. This will change the security type of your network to WPA, which is supported by the PSP. Please enter your password. Press X on the WPA Key page, then enter your network’s password and press X, then press X again, then the “Right” arrow. After selecting “Easy,” press the “Right” arrow. Press the Right arrow again to confirm your network’s name and Test connection, if it says Successful your device was configured properly.

Frame Template

0

Tutorial by Charlie

First, you need the plug-in Filters Unlimited 2.0 by I.C.Net Software, It is the only plug-in that you need for this tutorial, but it is NOT supplied with the tutorial nor is the link supplied. The inside dimensions of the frame template are approximately 270 X 450. You will be “pasting your image into the selected area” so it is important to downsize your image or use an image that is as close to those dimensions as possible. If you don’t, it will be greatly distorted.

This tutorial assumes that you have a working knowledge of Paint Shop Pro and includes only the “template” for the frame and a sample eml so that you can see the finished product in a stationery. If you use the template to make your frame, you will see how easy it is to create a frame from a template and by using your own imagination, you can create a great variety of templates for your own personal use.

Create the frame templates and just save them as a psp image or a jpg for yourself for future use! You can get the template for this frame Here. There is also an EML file included in the zip so you can see how it looks in a stationery. There is also a html file of this tutorial included in the zip. In creating this template, I chose to use varied colors. Since there are no “web shots” for you to fall back on, that way I can just tell you what “colored area” we will be working on. Have fun!

( 1 ) Choose your image. Again, if you have to cut some of the image off, please do so. It is important to keep the image as close to 270 Wide X 450 High. After you choose your image make 2 copies and put your original away. Resize one of them as closely as you can to the size of 270 wide by 450 high. With the second image, go to EFFECTS, SIMPLE and Quick Tile. You will be utilizing that tiled image later in the tutorial.

( 2) With your eyedropper, select 2 complimentary colors from your image … a lighter color in the foreground box, a darker color in the background box. Open the template, make a copy of it and close and save the original.

( 3 ) Choose your “Magic Wand” tool with the Mode set at Add (Shift), Match Mode at RGB Value, Tolerance at 10, Sample Merged NOT checked, Contiguous checked, Feather 0 and Anti-alias NOT checked. Then, select the white portion of the template.

( 4 ) Click on the image you choose and go to EDIT, Copy. Then go back to the template and choose EDIT, Paste Into Selection. Keep selected.

( 5 ) Choose EFFECTS, 3-D Effects, Cut-Out and apply the following settings: Vertical 7, Horizontal -9, Shadow Color Black, Opacity 45 to 70, Blur 26 to 28 and fill interior with color NOT checked. Keep selected.Frame Template

( 6 ) Repeat the cut-out, leaving all settings the same EXCEPT for the Vertical and Horizontal. Change the Vertical to -9 and the Horizontal to 7. Then choose SELECTIONS, Select None

( 7 ) With your magic wand (making sure that it is set at (Add-Shift), select the first thin grey border that is right up against the image AND the second thin grey border that is next to the yellow area, and flood fill them with your lighter foreground color.

( 8 ) Leave the border selected and choose EFFECTS, 3-D, Inner Bevel, with the following settings: Bevel #2, Width 4, Smoothness 6, Depth 1, Ambience 1, Shininess 8, Color White, Angle 328, Intensity 65, Elevation 16 and apply the bevel and go to SELECTIONS and Select None.

( 9 ) With your magic wand, select the yellow area and flood fill it with your darker background color. Keeping the area selected go to ADJUST, Add/Remove Noise, Add Noise with a dot in Uniform, 100% Noise and Monochrome. Apply the noise and keep selected.

( 10 ) Go up to EFFECTS, 3-D, Cut-out and apply a cut-out with the following settings: Vertical 2, Horizontal -2, Shadow Color Black, Opacity 75, Blur 4, Fill interior with color NOT checked. Apply the Cut-out. Then, apply the cut out a second time, but reverse the Vertical and Horizontal so that they are Vertical -2 and Horizontal 2. SELECTIONS, Select None.

( 11 ) With your magic wand (making sure it is set for the Add/Shift Mode) select the 4 light pink areas of the template and flood fill them with the lighter foreground color. Keeping it selected go to ADJUST and add noise with the exact same settings as previously used. Keeping the area selected, to up to EFFECTS, 3-D, cut-out and apply a cut-out with the following settings: Vertical -3, Horizontal 3, Shadow Color Black, Opacity 75 and Blur 4 and fill interior with color NOT checked. Apply the cut-out and then apply it the second time, changing the Vertical to 3 and the Horizontal to -3. SELECTIONS, and select none.

( 12 ) With your magic wand (again making sure that it is set for the mode Add/Shift) select the next 4 very thin hot pink borders and flood fill them with your lighter foreground color. Keeping the area selected, go to EFFECT, 3-D, Inner Bevel and using the same settings as previously, apply the inner bevel. Then go to SELECTIONS, Select None.

( 13 ) With your Magic Wand, select the large blue area in the template. Now open that copy of your main image that you tiled earlier and in your materials palette, set it for PATTERN and select that tiled image. Then flood fill the selected area with the tiled pattern. Keeping the area selected, go to ADJUST, Blur, Gaussian Blur and set it between 12 and 15 … or whatever you decide you like. Then go to EFFECTS, 3-D and cut-out, with the following settings: Vertical -4, Horizontal 4, Shadow Color Black, Opacity 60, Blur 20 and Fill Interior With Color NOT checked. Then apply another cut-out, reversing the Vertical to 4 and the Horizontal to -4. Go to SELECTIONS and Select None.

( 14 ) With your Magic Wand, (again making sure it is set at the Mode Add/Shift) select the 4 thin coral color borders and change your Material Palette back to Color instead of pattern and fill the borders with the light foreground color and then keeping them selected, apply the inner bevel with the same settings. Then go to SELECTIONS and select none.

( 15 ) Now go to the 4 very pale green wide borders and with your Magic Wand (set at Add/Shift) select the 4 areas and flood fill them with darker background color and keeping the area selected, go to EFFECTS, Filters Unlimited 2, Paper Textures, Canvas-Fine and apply the plug in. Then go to EFFECTS, 3-D and apply a cut out with the following settings: Vertical 2, Horizontal -2, Opacity 40, Blur 20, Fill interior with color NOT checked and then apply the cut out again, changing the Vertical to -2 and the Horizontal to 2. SELECTIONS and select none.

( 16 ) With your Magic Wand, now click on the final thin grey border that goes all the way around the frame and flood fill it with the lighter foreground color and keeping it selected, apply the inner bevel with the same settings. SELECTIONS, Select None .. re-size your work to the size you want …and, you are finished!!!

OR … you can add some corner embellishments of your choice to “dress it up” a bit! Now, remember that you can “rotate” the template so that you can make the frame and image wider and shorter instead of the way I have it turned. Have fun and also remember…try making your own templates! You can view more examples and get the zipped files for the templates Here

( 19 ) From the scrap kit copy MSG Autumn Colors Frog 1 and paste as a new layer onto your image. Image resize and resize by 25%. Place him at the top on the banner (see my image) and give him the same drop shadow.

( 20 ) Go to your picture tube tool, find the tube Autumn Leaves which comes standard with PSP. Add a new layer and with the tube tool at size 50 stamp some leaves on the lattice part of the mask (see my image) Also go to the layer underneath your mask layer, make a new layer and add some leaves there also. I also clicked on the layers underneath the frogs and caterpillar and added a leaf. (see my image)

( 21 ) From the scrap kit copy MSG Autumn Colors Butterfly 3 and paste as a new layer onto your image. Image resize and resize by 25%. Place it at the top of the leaves or wherever you want. Give it the same dropshadow.

( 22 ) From the scrap kit copy MSG Autumn Colors Caterpillar 1 and paste as a new layer onto your image. Image resize and resize by 25%. Give it the same dropshadow.

( 23 ) Now do the same with MSG Autumn Caterpillar 2, the ladybug and whatever else you wish to put on the leaves.

( 24 ) Place your name on it if you wish. Layers merge, merge visible. Resize if you wish and you are finished.
