Tutorial By Marleschka
This tutorial was made in PSP X2 but can be done in any version. For this tutorial I used a scrap kit from Cajoline which you can get Here Mask is from Maluka4psp. The tube of the clock & the rug are from Michele The tube of the cat is from Jenna
All other tubes are from here at PSP Pals. You can get all tubes and the mask in my zipped file Here
Please Note: All layers are turned off in the tube files.
You will also need the filters Alien Skin Eye Candy 5 Impact and MuRa’s Meister Cloud Place them in your plugins folder. Place the mask in your masks folder.
( 1 ) Open a new 700 x 500 transparent Image. Flood fill with #e4ddd6
( 2 ) New layer. From the Scrap Kit bring up CAJ.SCR.FR MINI-KIT NOEL AU COIN DU FEU 23. In your foreground pattern find this paper, put the size to 10. Flood fill the layer.
( 3 ) Layers. Load/Save Mask, Load Mask From Disc and find mask_felicidades_maluka4psp. Apply with these settings checked, Source Luminance, Fit to layer & Hide all mask. Layers merge, merge group.
( 4 ) Take your selection tool set to rectangle and at 0, 250 draw out a selection to cover the mask at the bottom. New layer and flood fill the selection with the pattern. Selections, select none. Layers duplicate and image mirror.
( 5 ) Bring up the tube floor, copy and paste as a new layer onto your image. Place it at the bottom of your image.
( 6 ) New Layer. Take your selection tool set to rectangle and at 0, 415, draw a selection all the way across and down to the edge of the floor. Flood fill with #711719. Effects 3d effects inner bevel with these settings, Bevel 2, Width 4, Smoothness 15, Depth 5, Ambience 20, Shininess 30, Color #ffffff, Angle 315, Intensity 26 and Elevation 45. Effects 3d effects drop shadow with these settings
Vertical -2, Horizontal 0, Opacity 50 Blur 5 and color #000000. With your Pic (deformation) tool pull it out on both sides.
( 7 ) From the Scrap Kit bring up CAJ.SCR.FR MINI-KIT NOEL AU COIN DU FEU 16. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your image. Image resize and resize by 55% all layers unchecked. Adjust, sharpness, sharpen. ( After every resize please sharpen, saves me from repeating myself) Effects 3d effects dropshadow with these settings, V&H; -4, Opacity 50, Blur 10 and color #000000. Place it to the left of your image (see my image)
( 8 ) Bring up the tube c_redxmasgift. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your image. Image resize and resize by 25%, all layers unchecked. Place it to the left under the xmas tree. Layers duplicate, image resize and resize by 85%, all layers unchecked. Adjust hue and saturation, colorise with these settings, Hue 98, Saturation 255. Place it over the other side of the xmas tree.
( 9 ) Now you can decorate the xmas tree. I have supplied a few xmas ornaments in the zip file but decorate any way you wish.
(10) From the Scrap Kit bring up CAJ.SCR.FR MINI-KIT NOEL AU COIN DU FEU 21. Image resize and resize by 65% all layers unchecked. Place them in front of the xmas tree. Effects 3d effects dropshadow with the same settings as step 7.
(11) Bring up the tube country-xmas-pic1. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your image. Place it to the top right (see my image)
(12 ) Bring up the tube country-xmas-window. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your image. Place it over the country-xmas-pic1.
(13 ) From the Scrap Kit bring up CAJ.SCR.FR MINI-KIT NOEL AU COIN DU FEU 10. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your image. Image resize and resize by 25%, all layers unchecked. Image mirror. Layers arrange move down. Now place him so he is looking in the window. (see my image) Take your selection tool and make a selection around his legs and hit delete. Effects 3d effects dropshadow with these settings, V-2, H 2, Opacity 50, Blur 3 and color #000000. Stay on that layer.
(14 ) From the Scrap Kit bring up CAJ.SCR.FR MINI-KIT NOEL AU COIN DU FEU 9. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your image. Image resize and resize by 25%, and again by 85% all layers unchecked. Image mirror. Layers arrange move down. Place the sleigh to the right in the window. (see my image) Effects 3d effects dropshadow with the same settings as step 13.
(15 ) Click back on your top layer. From the Scrap Kit bring up CAJ.SCR.FR MINI-KIT NOEL AU COIN DU FEU 20. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your image. Image resize and resize by 40%, all layers unchecked. Place it under the window.
(16 ) From the Scrap Kit bring up CAJ.SCR.FR MINI-KIT NOEL AU COIN DU FEU 11. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your image. Image resize and resize by 35%. Place her on the chair. Effects 3d effects dropshadow with these settings, V-2, H 2, Opacity 30, Blur 3 and color #000000.
(17 ) Bring up the tube holidayteddy. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your image. Image resize and resize by 25%. Place him beside the doll and give him the same dropshadow except change H to -2.
(18 ) Go to the layer of the chair and duplicate, layers arrange bring to the top. Take your eraser, size 10, Hardness 100, Opacity 100 and wipe away the parts of the chair that are covering the doll and the teddy bear.
(19 ) Go to the original chair layer and give it this drop shadow. V -4, H 4, opacity 50, blur 6 and color #000000. Back to the copy of the chair and layers merge, merge down 3 times.
(20 ) Back to your top layer. From the Scrap Kit bring up CAJ.SCR.FR MINI-KIT NOEL AU COIN DU FEU 15. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your image. Image resize and resize by 45%. Place it to the center bottom of your image. (see my image) Effects 3d effects dropshadow with these settings,
V-2, H 2, Opacity 30, Blur 3 and color #000000. Repeat with V 0, H -2.
(21 ) Bring up the tube MLM_Clock3. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your image. Image resize and resize by 25%, all layers unchecked. Place it on the mantel piece. Effects 3d effects dropshadow with these settings, V-3, H 1, Opacity 30, Blur 3 and color #000000. Repeat with V 0, H -1.
(22 ) Bring up the tube xmas candle_pspapls_c. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your image. Image resize and resize by 25% and again by 65% all layers unchecked. Place it on the mantel piece and give it the same drop shadow. Layers duplicate, image mirror. Place at the other end of the mantel piece.
(23 ) From the Scrap Kit bring up CAJ.SCR.FR MINI-KIT NOEL AU COIN DU FEU 3, 4 & 5. Resize them by 25% & twice by 75%, all layers unchecked. Copy and paste them onto your image and hang them from the mantel piece. I mirrored one of them (see my image) Give each one this dropshadow.
V -1, H 1, Opacity 50, Blur 1 & color #000000.
(24 ) From the Scrap Kit bring up CAJ.SCR.FR MINI-KIT NOEL AU COIN DU FEU 18. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your image. Image resize and resize by 25%. With your Pic (deformation) tool squeeze it in to fit the mantel piece. (see my image) Effects 3d effects dropshadow with these settings, V-2, H 0, Opacity 50, Blur 3 and color #000000.
(25 ) From the Scrap Kit bring up CAJ.SCR.FR MINI-KIT NOEL AU COIN DU FEU 7. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your image. Image resize and resize by 25%, all layers unchecked. Place it on the hearth. Give it the same dropshadow. Layers merge, merge down 8 times. Your fireplace and all of the things that go with it should now all be on one layer.
(26 ) From the Scrap Kit bring up CAJ.SCR.FR MINI-KIT NOEL AU COIN DU FEU 17. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your image. Image resize and resize by 25% and again by 50%, all layers unchecked. Place it beside the fireplace. Give it the same dropshadow.
(27 ) From the Scrap Kit bring up CAJ.SCR.FR MINI-KIT NOEL AU COIN DU FEU 2. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your image. Image resize and resize by 25% and again by 85%, all layers unchecked. Place it beside the chair. Give it the same dropshadow.
(28 ) From the Scrap Kit bring up CAJ.SCR.FR MINI-KIT NOEL AU COIN DU FEU 24. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your image. Image resize and resize by 40%, all layers unchecked. Place it above the fireplace. Take your selection tool set to rectangle and make a selection inside the frame about 2 rows in from the edge and hit delete. (see my image)
(29 ) With your magic wand select inside the frame, selections modify and expand by 3, new layer, layers arrange move down. With your foreground on #711719 and your background on #e4ddd6 go to effects MuRa’s Meister, Cloud and apply. Keep the selection, new layer, bring up the jpg country-xmas-pic, copy and paste it into the selection. Selections select none. Reduce the opacity of this layer to 50. Click back on the frame layer, layers merge, merge down 2 times.
(30 ) Effects, Eye Candy 5 Impact, Perspective Shadow. Go to Manage, Import, Find the folder scrap-blend25 and click on the country-xmas file. Find it in the list and hit OK.
(31 ) Place your foreground on a gold tile pattern. Go to your pen tool with these settings, Create on Vector, Draw Point To Point, Line Style Solid, Width 1. Click on the layer underneath your frame. Draw a line from halfway down the side of the frame upto where you want it to end. (This is the hanger for the frame) Layers convert to a raster layer. Effects 3d effects dropshadow with these settings, V & H 1, Opacity 50, Blur 3 and color #000000. Repeat with V & H at -1. Layers duplicate, image mirror. With your Pic (deformation) tool move it to fit. Layers merge, merge down 2 times.
(32 ) Click back on your top layer. With your selection tool set to ellipse & create as vector, leave your gold pattern in the foreground but change the background to #000000, draw out a small round for the nail. Layers convert to a raster layer. Effects 3d effects dropshadow with these settings, V-1 & H 0, Opacity 50, Blur 3 and color #000000. Place it over the top of the hanger. Layers merge, merge down. Now you should have all the layers for the picture frame as 1 layer.
(33 ) Bring up the tube MLM_SquareAreaRug1. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your image. Place it in front of the fireplace.
(34 ) Bring up the tube catfluffywhitejj. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your image. Image resize and resize by 60%, all layers unchecked. Effects 3d effects dropshadow with these settings, V & H -2, Opacity 30, Blur 6 & color #000000. Place it on the mat.
(35 ) With your text tool and the font I supplied, size 30, foreground locked and the background on #e4ddd6 write your message. Convert to a raster layer. Effects 3d effects dropshadow with these settings, V & H 1, opacity 50, Blur 1 and color #000000. Place it in the picture frame.
(36 ) Make sure you are on your top layer. Bring up the tube country-xmas-frame. Copy and paste as a new layer onto your image.
(37 ) Now you can rearrange things if you want. Also resize some if they need it. I resized the chair layer by 95%. I also clicked on the frame layer and with the Pic (deformation) tool I held down the Ctrl key and pushed it in slightly at the bottom. Place your name on it if you wish.
(38) Find the layer of the window frame and click on the visibilty toggle to make it invisible. Click on another layer and merge visible. Copy.
(39) Open Animation Shop, right click on the canvas and paste as a new animation. Edit, copy, edit paste after current frame. Do this until you have 10 frames. Edit select all.
(40) Open the tube country-xmas-snow, Edit select all, Edit copy. Back to your pic, make sure you have frame 1 in front of you and edit paste into selected frame and place it over the pic.
(41) Back to PSP and click on the window frame, make sure it is visible by clicking on the visibilty toggle, Edit Copy.
(42) Back to Animation Shop, right click on the canvas and paste as a new animation. Duplicate until you have 10 frames. Edit select all, Edit Copy.
(43) Back to your pic, edit select all, edit paste into selected frame. Place it over the pic.
(44) Still in Animation Shop, open the tube country-xmas-fire. Edit select all, Edit copy. Back to your pic, edit paste into selected frame and place it in the fireplace.
(45) Right click in the top of one of the frames and select, frame properties and change the number to 25. View your animation and if all is right then save as a gif file and you are finished.
